I really appreciate to visiting one of the greatest fiberglass shipyards, Christensen.

It’s exclusive shipyard, so I won’t up any photo, however, I could up the photo of finished Christen yacht.

The captain is kind enough to show me the interior and it is awesome interior design!!

I was surprised that the monitor at the entrance is saying that “Welcome Yoshihiro Uchiyama”. That represents how shipyard treats visitor.

I had such a great experience to look thru the shipyard and thank for giving me tour.

シアトルから3時間のドライブでChristensen Shipyardに行ってきました。

Christensenのボートは、フォートローダーデールのボートショーで見ているのでクォリティの高いシップビルダーです。アメリカ国内のみならず、ヨーロッパ、カリブ海でChristensen Yachtと言えば通じる位、レピュテイションがあります。

造船所内の写真はアップする事が出来ませんが、160フィートオーバーのモーターヨットがFRPのヴァキュームで建造されています。

丁度メンテナンスで来ていたChristensen 165フィートをキャプテンの配慮により見せてもらった。全てがカスタムです。全てにおいて埃一つ無い位綺麗です。このボートは今週の金曜にカナダに行くそうです。

もっとも驚いたのが、エントランスのモニターに「Welcome Yoshihiro Uchiyama」と書いてあった事です。この様なアティテュードがこの造船所を物語っています。

素晴らしい造船所です。全てのショップを見せてくれました。ゴミ一つ落ちていないショップでした。

これから色々なプロポーザルを出していきたいと思います。

I met a longtime friend of mine, Mrs. Kelly @ the Ocean Alexander Headquarter Seattle. She is kind enough to help and address me to go forward my business.

She showed me brand new Ocean Alexander 68 PHMY. It’s modern interior with mixture of straight line and traditional yacht curves.

I like the large master state room with big circle port light.

I’m gonna meet her soon for sure.

シアトルの事務所に勤めていた頃からの友人である「Mrs. Kelly」とOcean Alexanderのオフィスで会った。

彼女は親切にも色々なアシスタントを買って出てくれます。おかげで色々な機会が得られています。ありがとうございます。

Ocean Alexanderの68フィートPilot House Motor Yachtを見せてもらった。サテンフィニッシュの木室内艤装で、直線的なデザインとボート独特のカーブのミックスがモダンなデザインです。

Lower Deckのマスタールームは、両舷の丸い舷窓が室内を明るくし、閉塞感は全くありません。

滞在中にまたお会いし、ボートマーケットの話し等を聞かせてもらえればと思います。

I met with Selene Seattle office manager and yacht brokers.

I have known him since I met him in Taiwan.

He took me to take a look at Selene boat. It’s well done interior and nice wood finish.

They are heading toward much larger boat and I believe interior design is one of the most important aspects for the boat.

今日はSeleneシアトルのマネジャーとブローカーとのミィーティングでした。

ブローカーの彼とは数年前台北で会って以来の知人です。

Seleneのトローラーボートを見せてもらった。木艤装のフィニッシュは素晴らしいです。

Seleneは100フィートを建造・プランニング中。GAや防音マテリアルを見ながらの良いミィーティングでした。

I have arrived Seattle and it’s quite chilly in here.

I took Delta airline this time because that’s the only direct airline from Japan.

I arrived on Sunday, so I walked around downtown Seattle.

It’s Seattle and I feel to be back!

ロングフライトを経て、シアトルに到着。日本に比べて涼しいです。

今回はDelta Airlineのフライトです。成田-シアトル間の直行便はDeltaしかないのですね。私が居た頃は「American」や「Northwest」など色々あったのですが・・

日曜日の朝に到着。そのままダウンタウンで友人と待合せ。変わった所もあり、変わらない所もあり非常に懐かしいです。

I’m gonna be in Seattle for a week for business.

Seattle where I love is background of my life and career.

I will visit some shipyards, naval architects and designers.

I’m so excited to be back in Seattle and looking forward to meeting with You!!

アメリカのシアトルに向けて出発します。

シアトルは私のキャリアのバックグラウンドでもあるし、人生においても大切な場所です。

ご縁があってアメリカ国内最大級のスーパーヨットを建造している造船所のGMや、その他メガヨットビルダーに訪問したり、船舶設計士(Naval Architect) やデザイナー達とのとのアポイントが入っています。

シアトルに戻るまで時間が懸かりました。日本に帰ってきてから3回はシアトルに行っているが、今回の「訪問」は『チャレンジ』なので意味合いが違う。

沢山の方々とお会い出来る事を楽しみにしています。
