We have to visit several showrooms for the meeting recently.

It’s always good chance to see new material (technology) and talk about the materials with rep.

Above is the tile. I feel it has some sense of Japanese.

Below is flooring. I feel it’s like European Tatami mat, made of over 80% paper.

The idea is coming from somewhere when I touch something good.

最近、数箇所のショールームへ打合せに行く仕事があった。

ショールームへ行くと、新しいマテリアルやテクノロジーとの出会いがあり、そのマテリアルの説明を聞き、触れる事でイメージが湧いてくる。

上の写真はタイル。日本のテイストが見え隠れする高級感があるタイル。

下の写真はフローリング。ヨーロッパ版畳の様な感触。材質は80％以上が紙。

私は良いものに触れる事がアイデアがフツフツと湧いてくる。

カーペットの種類やブランドは色々あります。

時に沢山あり過ぎて、どれを選んだらよいか分からなくなります。そこが我々の仕事であり、クライアントからリクエストを聞き、諸々の条件をクリアし適したモノ(ベストなもの)を提案します。

価格は当然「クォリティー」に反映します。

アメリカのカーペットを見てきたが、高級感があり、クォリティーが高いです。踏んだ時に伝わってきます。

At the initial plan of boat building stage, we calculate the speed prediction.

The sheets are based upon the bunch of data and there is a certain formula to estimate right speed. In reverse theory, if the boat wants 40 top speed, this sheet is very, very useful date.

It’s quite difficult to estimate accurate top speed and cruising speed because it’ll change wind and sea condition, but to have these date is to know what we have to be really care during the construction.

初期デザインの段階で、ボート性能の一つとしてスピード計算をします。

このシートはデータに基づき、フォーミュラによってはじき出した数字です。逆に(リバースセオリー)「トップスピード = 40ノット」というリクエストがよくありますが、この数字に届く為に「ドコ」を「どうすれば良いか」が見えてきます。

実際のスピードをデータのみによって計算する事は非常に難しいですが(その時の風速や海況によって違うため)、このデータをもとに建造スキームが見えてきます。

We have to follow the rules when it’s building a yacht of any size naturally.

Above 24m is quite complicated and related many rules. Many superyachts are building under shipyard’s familiar class and get MCA LY2. This rule is quite popular.

Even though we are studying MARPOL, at the same time we will research and study MCA that is A4, 180 pages. Once it reads through overall, we can get where is the related rule for certain project.

どのサイズのボートでも、建造するにあたってはルールに適合させなければなりません。ルールは最低限であって、そこに経験に基づくデータが加味されていきます。

日本では20トン、12mなどの段階がありますが、全世界で24メートル以上の船舶のルールは非常に厳しく、複雑です。

「航海区域」や「定員」にもよりますが、MARPOLやSOLASなどの絡みが当然ながら出てきます。世界のSuperyachtでポピュラーなのが、各国の船級(又は造船所が実績あるクラス)、プラス「MCA」です。

これも一部分のルールだけで180ページあります。まずは全体を把握し、該当する箇所をピックアップし、Research & Studyです。
