海外の造船所のオーナーをお迎えして、クルージング。

今まで700艇以上のボートを建造し、平均すると70フィート。4 工場あり、大きさ別に各工場で建造している。NCマシーンも備えており、型専用の大きな工場も持っている。

現在では150フィートオーバーのモーターヨットを建造している。

今まで建造してきたノウハウの蓄積があり、新しい建造方法もR&Dで常に研究しているようだ。

We welcome the international guest who is the owner of shipyard and go out sea.

His shipyard has been building more than 700 motor yachts so far and average is 70 footer. There are 4 yards and it separate to the construction size. His yard strength is there is a big mold factory with CNC machine.

Currently they are building over 150ft motor yacht.

I sensed his knowledge based on the experience and their R&D department is always searching new technology of yacht building.

通常は見れない上架してある名艇のハルを見て考える。

描いては書き直し、描いては書き直しの繰り返しをする事で、洗練されていく。だがそこには、ただ単に書き直すという「ドラフター作業」ではなく、見てきたもののエッセンスを加味して描いていく。

長い道のりだが、苦しくもあり、楽しい時でもある。

I couldn’t see famous boat bottom unless the boat is hauled up. Then looking at the bottom shape and think about it.

I’ve been re-drawing again and again, but it’s getting better and I feel like getting closer to perfect shape. When I modify the drawing, it reflects what I see and check.

It been quite long way to the end, but I have to be tough enough to enjoy this kind of experience.

ハトラス63コックピットモーターヨットが下架しました。曇り空でも、パリッと映える色合いです。

Refit計画はまだまだ続きます。

Hatteras63 CMY puts back to sea after certain work done. Even though the cloudy day, hull color is shining on the sea.

Her refit work keeps going still.

イタリアからのお土産(？)として、沢山の現地のボート雑誌を見せてもらった。

アメリカのボート雑誌は定期購読しているが、ヨーロッパの雑誌は内容が違いますね。広告にファッション・時計・家具等がヨットとリンクしています。見ていて面白い(記事は英語でないので読めないが・・)。

海外のボートビジネスやデザイントレンドの動きは、ネットや雑誌を通して追いかけています。ですが、やはりボートショーなどに行って、現物を見るに限りますね。どのボートショーが良いか？というのも、ちゃんと押さえないとダメですね。

5年以上、切り抜きをファイリングしているが、ファイルがまた増えます。これが私のリソースブックとなります。

I saw many European boat magazines from person who just returned from Italy.

I contract yearly subscribe for some US boat magazine, so I familiar with US boat magazine. It looks like EU boat magazine is more mixture with fashion, watch and furniture than US’. It’s very interesting to see it.

I have checking worldwide yacht business and yacht trend thru internet and magazine. But I believe the best way is to attend the boat show to see the boat in front of me. To select the certain purpose boat show is also the key to search the magazine and internet from experience.

I’ve been filing cut out scrap magazine for five years, That’s my source of design and I have to have one more for Italian magazine.

雨続きだったが、久し振りの晴れ間に見た全塗装中の「ハトラス63CMY」。まるで別の船ですね。

作業中の職人さんと話をしていて、勉強になりました。バフの機械も2種類のものを使っていたり、コンパウンドも色々と研究しています。

紙(PC)だけを机で描いている設計士・デザイナーではなく、現場を見れて、意匠だけではなくUser Friendlyな設計をしなければならないと思う。そうなるべくして、これからも、色々な所にお邪魔して聞きますので、教えて下さいね。

It had been rainy day in Tokyo, but was nice day to check the color balance fro Hatteras63 CMY. It looks like different boat.

I had a chance to talk with painter and learned paint process. He is using two different types of grinder and polish material for different surface stage.

I’d like to be a designer who is not doing design work thru PC at desk, but also drawing has to be more realistic to be a user friendly. I will ask around the yard, so please advice to me.
