I took a ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island to meet great naval architect, Mr. Jack Sarin.

He showed me a lot of projects pictures he done and talked about each project’s story.

It was such a great experience to meet naval architect like him and how mega yacht project goes. I’ve learned not only custom mega yacht, but also production boat project.

I hope I could meet him when he comes to Asian region.

シアトルの対岸にあるべインブリッジ・アイランドへフェリーに乗って行ってきた。

アメリカのみならず、インターナショナルに有名な船舶設計士の「Jack Sarin」とのミィーティングです。

今までのメガヨット・プロジェクトの写真を見ながら話をし、各プロジェクトのバックグラウンド・ストーリーを聞かせてもらった。私もI padを使って説明です。

世界中で建造しているSarinさんのデザインしたボートの話は、非常に興味深く、プロジェクトの成り立ちも各国によって異なるので、勉強になりました。

近々アジアに来た時に、またお会いする約束をし、フェリー乗り場まで送ってもらいました。

We just received the refit project’s headliner leather and track.

There is several construction ways to install the headliner.

Using the plastic tack, it’s much easier and smooth way. It doesn’t matter the curve surface.

I’ll update when the refit will start.

ボートのヘッドライナー用のレザーとレールが届いた。

ヘッドライナーの施工方法は色々とあるが、ヘッドライナートラック(レール)を使う事によって施工スピードと仕上りが違います。

曲面でも問題ありませんし、特殊な工具も必要ありません。

順次、工事のプロセスをアップしていきます。

Logo represents company’s identity.

Japan Airline changes the logo back to original strong logo.

Older people and people who are from abroad is familiar with this original logo than new design.

Japan Airline’s owner changed and decides the logo back to original.

That’s great idea and people know that is the Japan Airline’s great designed logo.

会社のロゴは、会社そのものを表しています。

経営体制が変わったJALはロゴも昔のデザインに戻しました。

JALと言えばこの鶴をモチーフにしたロゴが象徴的でした。新しいロゴが悪いのではなく、オリジナルの物のイメージが非常に強いです。

ロゴを元に戻し、コーポレートアイデンティティを再構築するという姿勢の表れでしょうね。

The shop is lined by order and has great dust free paint booth.

The heritage of Japanese traditional furniture design is still keeping, but they try to combine with modern western furniture design.

They make quality pieces and I believe we’ll be able to work well with on the project.

北青山にショールールがあるらしいので、近いうちに伺います。

ボート塗装からすると羨ましい限りのダストフリーのペイントショップ。当然ながら綺麗な表面仕上げと共に、品質の高さを確認しました。

It’s very important a log plate on production boat.

Even though a logo design reflects to a design of item itself and represents a boat itself.

There is special company to make logo plate and design manufacture’s logo.

Boat is relatively expensive. The logo has to be matched with production identity in costwise.

ロゴ一つをとってみても、全体のデザインを象徴するものであり、デザインの一部である。

トランスポーテーションのロゴを専門にデザイン、製造している会社が名古屋にあります。
